Hand-made by local artisans in Argentina, the uke Puma features a heavy-duty brazier-style fire starter basket where real wood or natural lump charcoal is burnt to hot embers before they are slid onto heat refractory bricks under the grill. A quintessential Santa Maria-style control wheel raises or lowers the grill grate allowing asadors to cook from 4 to 23 from the coals. The distance from the coals controls the cooking temperature, allowing for high-heat searing of thinner-cut steaks or vegetables or low-and-slow cooking of thicker roasts or racks of ribs. The Puma is also outfitted with traditional V-shaped grill grates to channel drippings away from the fire to avoid flare-ups. Made from a combination of high-grade stainless and heavy-gauge steel, the Puma is both extremely durable and an attractive centerpiece for any outdoor kitchen. The Puma comes with a cast iron plancha to overlay the brazier for flat-top cooking, a wheeled cart featuring accessory hooks, as well as a fire poker and shovel for managing the coals and easy ash clean up.

Care and Maintenance
1. Initial use: For your first use, light the grill with charcoal or wood and allow the heat to burn off any residue from the factorys powder-coated paint application. Once the grill has reached a high heat for 30 minutes, the grill is ready for cooking food.
2. Oil the grates: Before and after each use of the grill, lightly oil the grates with vegetable oil or another high-smoke-point neutral oil. This will help prevent foodfrom sticking andhelp prevent rust after use.
3. Cleaning the grates: After each use, clean the grill grates thoroughly to remove any leftover food or grease. Lightly spray water on the grates while they are still hot to easily wipe away residue with a cloth or paper towel. Use a grill brush or light scouring pad to scrape off more stubborn buildup.
4. Cover the grill: When the grill is not in use, cover it with a grill cover to protect it from the elements. uke grill covers are not fully waterproof, but will help prevent moisture buildup which can lead to rusting. If possible, store the grill indoors or under hard coverage when it is not in use. This will help protect it from the elements and prevent rust.
5. Check for rust: Regularly inspect the grill for signs of rust, particularly on the grates, firebox, and exterior. If you notice rust, remove it with a wire brush or sandpaper and apply a rust-inhibiting paint or spray. If there is rust on the painted exterior, wipe with a towel and spray the exterior with cooking spray or high-smoke point neutral oil.
6. Griddle Care: Before first use, burn off factory application prior to cooking. After initial burn off, keep the griddle oiled with a high-smoke-point neutral oil. When finished cooking, spray with water while hot and scrape off any food particles left. To avoid rust, oil again with a thin layer prior to storing. If there is any rust buildup, rub with fine steel wool, wipe, and oil.
